New Year’s Eve at the Club – December 31 – this will be an informal event so if you would like to join other club members to ring in the new year, come on over, whomever gets to the club first be sure to turn on the lights so others will know you are there.

Citrus Festival Parade – February 2, 1006 – the club voted to pay the $50 entry fee so if you would like to volunteer your boat for the parade please let us know at the January meeting.

Planning meeting for 2006 – November 9 – We had many people attending the planning meeting but most were regulars who always attend.  For those of you who did not attend, you missed the perfect opportunity to voicing what you would like to do for the 2006 year.  We accepted the cruise committees list of cruises for the year and scheduled other events.  All of this information will be in the new membership book, new club calendars and on the web site as we go into 2006.  If you see a weekend free and have something you would like to chair, please get with an officer or board member and put the event together.  This club is up to doing anything at least once.

CRUISES – Mike Hall, Cruise Master

ST AUGUSTINE CRUISE November 26 and 27 There were 8 boats and 22 people in all for the weekend.  This was our yearly trip to St Augustine and was a great trip with a few incidents to report.  Mike Hall was the cruise leader on Friday and managed to find Hall’s Oyster Bar and had the Kears join them.  The Halls were able to get off the oyster bar with the help of a canoe (check out the pictures) and a fishing boat and a little patience.  The Kears on the other hand had to be towed off Hall’s oyster bar Mental Floss towed them to St Augustine.  Never Enough could not be fixed and had to be trailered home on Monday.  The Guyers reservations at the Marion Hotel were not available on Friday so they were transported across the bridge to another hotel and back and forth until they were able to check in on Saturday.  Mike also wanted to let everyone know they do NOT recommend Santa Maria for dinner, the food is so so and the service is bad.  David Smith and Awe$um lead the trip on Saturday with Budget Buster and I’m happy to report we had no need to visit Hall’s Oyster Bar.  We had a dock party Saturday night and dinner at OC Whites.  Everyone spent the weekend walking around and touring different aspects of St Augustine.  If you have not make this trip please try to go next year, it is great boating trip and St Augustine has much to offer in sightseeing and history.

Cruise to Hutchinson Island is being planned for New Year’s weekend, if you are interested please let me know, Becky – 863-968-0338.  We have 7 boats planning to go and the dock master said he might be able to get one or two more if I let him know quickly.  The resort is open but rooms are rather pricy, if you want a room, please let me know and I’ll see if I can do anything to get a better rate.  If you book on the internet the rates are $209 for the 31st and $249 for the January 1.

Gasparilla – January 27 - 29  – We received information from Tampa Cruis-A-Cade promoting their annual event for Gasparilla weekend.  Registration begins on Friday with Dinner and Entertainment for the evening. Saturday begins all the festivities for Gasparilla, they will cast off from the club at 10:30am to join the pirates ships and return to the club for the Commodore Party beginning at 5pm. This will be discussed at the planning meeting on the 9th and I will have all the information with me so please let me know if you need additional information.  Or you can contact Greg Gregory, 813-376-4219.

Becky thanked Mike for a great job in 2005 as Cruise Chairperson, wish he would do it again.

Remember if you do not have a boat, but would like to ride along on a cruise, contact the cruise leader.
